Pawty Yoga's home studio is at Fred Astaire Dance Studio on Memorial Drive — five minutes from Memorial City Mall, ten minutes from Town & Country Village. If you live in Memorial, Bunker Hill, or Hedwig Village, you couldn't be closer. Two dates, multiple time slots, max 20 guests per session.

Memorial's first puppy yoga studio

The Memorial Area has long been one of Houston's strongest dog communities — Memorial Park, Terry Hershey, dog-friendly cafés on Gessner — but until now there hasn't been a puppy yoga class anywhere west of 610. Pawty Yoga changes that. Our studio sessions run inside Fred Astaire Dance Studio at 12649 Memorial Drive, the polished sprung-floor space that locals already know from ballroom classes and weekend events.

Each 75-minute session pairs a beginner-friendly flow with vetted puppies from our ethical breeder partners who roam the studio while you stretch. There's no yoga experience required, no age limit (we welcome kids and seniors), and no pressure to hold a perfect pose — half the class will be on the floor petting puppies anyway. Class size is capped at 20 to keep the puppy-to-human ratio meaningful.

Make it a Memorial morning

One of the upsides of holding sessions in the Memorial Area is that you're already in the middle of a Saturday morning routine. We've watched groups turn the 75 minutes of puppy yoga into a half-day in the neighborhood — these are the pairings we hear about most.

  • Before class: Coffee and something baked — Common Bond on Voss, Fluff Bake Bar at Memorial Bend, or Snooze A.M. Eatery for a full breakfast if you're booked into the later morning slot. All within 5 minutes of the studio.
  • After class: A walk at Terry Hershey Park or Memorial Park — the shaded trails are at their best in the morning and you'll already be in athleisure. If you've got kids in tow, the Bendwood Park playground or Bear Creek splash pad are the natural next move.
  • Make it lunch: Memorial City Mall, Town & Country Village, and the Bunker Hill shopping district are all within a 10-minute drive. Local Foods, North Italia, and Tiny Boxwood's at City Centre have been our post-class brunch favorites for groups.
  • Bring it home: Several Memorial regulars stop at Whole Foods Bunker Hill on the way home and call the whole morning a win. (No affiliation — it's just a really good Whole Foods.)

Memorial-specific questions

Is there parking at the studio?

Yes — there's a free shared lot right behind the building off Memorial Drive, and overflow parking on the side streets. We've never had anyone unable to find a spot.

I live in Bunker Hill / Hedwig Village — how long is the drive?

Under 10 minutes from anywhere in Memorial Villages. From Bunker Hill Elementary it's about 4 minutes; from Hedwig Village city limits it's 6 minutes. From Spring Branch it's around 8.

Can I bring my own dog?

Not to the public sessions — the puppies on-site are screened and managed for the class environment. But if you want to host a private event with your own dog or friends' dogs, that's exactly what our private bookings are for. Email hello@pawtyyoga.com for details.

I'm bringing kids. Is it kid-friendly?

Absolutely — kids are some of our happiest guests. Memorial families have already booked multiple seats together. Kids 5+ can fully participate; younger kids are welcome on a parent's mat.
